Pongsathorn was born in Bangkok, Thailand.He started playing Double bass in 2000 with Mr.Nakorn Kitti-udom at The College of Dramatic-Arts.Later, he had entered to Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University and Graduated in Performing major.

Pongsathorn is currently a Principal Double bass of Siam Philharmonic Orchestra, Galyani Vadhana Institute Orchestra and Chulalongkorn Symphony Orchestra.Pongsathornis also a member of The Viola's Lover since that was founded and Double bass Coach of Thai Youth Orchestra since 2004 until 2010. the latest, he serves as Orchestra manager and the Administrative Supervisor of Siam philharmonic Orchestra and Siam Sinfonietta of Bangkok Opera by Maestro Somtow Sucharitkul. He is a member of Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.He used to plays with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra and Dr.Sax Chamber Orchestra. In 2007, he had been participating with the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) for Asian tour with Maestro Okko Kamu and Maestro Richard Pontzious.Pongsathorn studied Double bass with David Sheet, Principal Double bass of Baltimore Symphony Orchestra during the camp.he also join in South-east Asian Youth Orchestra(SAYOWE) since 2003 as Principal of Double bass.

Currently Pongsathorn is Instructor at The Faculty of Fine and applied arts of Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Music of Silpakorn University, College of Music of Rangsit University, Srinakharinwirot University, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Kasetsart University, Wat Suthi Wararam School

พงศธร สุรภาพ เริ่มศึกษาดับเบิลเบสที่วิทยาลัยนาฎศิลป หลังจากนั้นได้เข้าศึกษาต่อในระดับปริญญาตรีที่ภาควิชาดุริยางคศิลป์ ตะวันตก คณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยในปีการศึกษา 2547 โดยเรียนกับอ.นคร กิตติอุดม และยังมีโอกาสได้ศึกษาดับเบิลเบสเพิ่มเติมกับ Mr. Ahn Hyuck Dong, Mr.Hikaru Watanabe, Mr.David Sheet, Mr.Wolfgang Steike

เขาได้มีโอกาสร่วมเล่นวงดุริยางค์หลายวง อาทิ Siam Philharmonic Orchestra, Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Orchestra, Chulalongkorn University Symphony Orchestra Bangkok Symphony Orchestra เป็นสมาชิกวง The Viola Lovers ในขณะที่พงศธรกำลังศึกษาอยู่ เขาเคยเป็นหัวหน้ากลุ่มดับเบิลเบสและผู้ฝึกสอนของวงดุริยางค์เยาวชนไทย

ในปี 2007 เขาได้รับเลือกให้เข้าร่วม Asian Youth Orchestra และ South-East Asian Youth Orchestra ปี 2003-2006 โดยได้รับตำแหน่งหัวหน้ากลุ่มตั้งแต่ปี 2004 เป็นต้นไป ปัจจุบันเขาได้รับโอกาสให้เป็นอาจารย์พิเศษวิชาดับเบิลเบสของคณะดุริยางคศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร, จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย, มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต, มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ และเป็นผู้ฝึกสอนดับเบิลเบสให้กับSilpakorn Summer Music School ของคณะดุริยางคศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ปัจจุบัน เขาได้เดำรงผู้จัดการวงSiam Philharmonic Orchestra, Siam Sinfonietta และ Siam Community ในปี 2012 เขายังมีโอกาสได้นำวง Siam Sinfonietta ไปประกวดในรายการ Summa Cum Laude ที่หอทอง กรุงเวียนนา ประเทศออสเตรีย และได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศอันดับ1 ในประเภท Symphony Orchestra ขณะนี้พงศธรกำลังศึกษาในระดับปริญญามหาบัณฑิต สาขาสังคีตวิจัยและพัฒนา ที่คณะดุริยางคศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร
